Blue against white: Fieldchairs at the Winter Olympics
Fieldchairs at the Winter Olympics
The collaboration brought together two brands that share an appreciation for time spent outdoors. While the Winter Olympics celebrate movement and performance, they also create countless moments in between: waiting for an event to begin, gathering with friends, or simply taking in the mountain landscape. Those are exactly the moments the Fieldchair was designed for.
A familiar design in an unexpected landscape
The Fieldchair is known for its straightforward construction and natural larch wood. Its foldable design makes it easy to carry, unfold, and place almost anywhere—whether that's a backyard, a campsite, or, in this case, a snow-covered Olympic venue. The chair's minimalist construction allows the surrounding landscape to take center stage while providing a surprisingly comfortable place to sit.
For this special project, Corona customized the Fieldchairs in its iconic blue. Against the bright white snow, the chairs became striking landmarks throughout the Olympic grounds. The vibrant color echoed the brand's identity while giving the familiar silhouette an entirely new appearance.
Designed to be used
At Weltevree, we believe that good design becomes meaningful through use. Our products are not created to be admired from a distance—they are made to invite people outside, encourage interaction, and create moments of connection.
Seeing the Fieldchairs scattered across snowy mountain venues perfectly reflected that philosophy. They weren't decorative objects. They became places to rest, meet, watch, and experience one of the world's biggest sporting events.
Custom projects with character
The Olympic installation also demonstrates what's possible through custom collaborations. For larger projects, Weltevree can adapt products with custom colors or branding while preserving the original design and functionality. Whether for hospitality, public spaces, cultural events, or international partnerships, each project begins with the same question: how can design enrich the experience of being outdoors?
The blue Fieldchairs may have stood out against the snow, but their purpose remained unchanged. Wherever they are placed—on a sunny terrace, beside a campfire, or overlooking an Olympic slope—they offer exactly what they were designed for: a comfortable place to slow down, look around, and enjoy the moment.
