The Local Habitat, designed by Floris Schoonderbeek, is a special glass bowl. With the Local Habitat you can temporarily create your own ecosystem. Go into nature and create a green mini-world by yourself or with your children. From moss, leaves, sand and insects or water, fish and an aquatic plant. The Local Habitat is a perfect way to get kids in touch with nature.
The large bubbles on the side have a magnifying effect. So you can observe insects or other animals even better. The Local Habitat can also be used as a quirky vase in your interior. Put a beautiful field bouquet in it, for example.

With the Local Habitat, you learn more about the animals in your neighborhood. With the Local Habitat, you receive an information booklet about the animals and species that live in your area. This way you really learn all about your temporary ecosystem.
LUPENEFFECT
The three bubbles on the Local Habitat have a magnifying effect and allow for better observation. The shape increases your vision, allowing you to view animals from different angles. This effect works best when observing aquatic animals.

The Local Habitat is the ideal starting point for creating your own terrarium. With a little research on which plants to use, you can fill the Local Habitat as you see fit. Or use the Local Habitat as a vase and fill it with fresh cut flowers.

The Forestry Bench is made of Douglas fir wood originating from Dutch forests. The wood is assembled with steel bow-tie wood joints. The wood will eventually develop a natural grey patina when left untreated. It is available in a Raw and Refined version. The Forestry Tables are made from wood sourced from Dutch forests in cooperation with Staatsbosbeheer (a Dutch government organization for forestry and the management of nature reserves). The Forestry Bench is available in a 3 or 4 person version. To extend the life of your furniture, it is good to give it an oil treatment once a year.
