Outdooroven recipe: French toast from the oven with blueberry sauce
Start your day with a sweet breakfast from the Outdooroven. Make classic French toast with a twist: French toast from the oven with blueberry sauce. With just a few ingredients, you can put this hearty, sweet breakfast on the table. Perfect for a relaxing Sunday morning.
Requirements
Ingredients for 3-4
- Half (stale) bread of your choice
- 150 ml milk
- 4 eggs
- 3 tbsp sugar
- Cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla aroma
- 250 g blueberries
- 1 tbsp honey
- Extra: powdered sugar or sugar for garnish
- Oven dish
- Steel pan
- Hand blender
Step 1: Add the milk, eggs, sugar and vanilla aroma together in a bowl and mix well. For extra sweetness, you can add cinnamon to taste.
Step 2: Grease a baking dish well. Dip slices of bread into the mixture and place them in the baking dish. Continue until your mixture runs out.

Step 3: Put the baking dish in the oven and wait until the mixture is well incorporated and the French toast gets a crispy coating. How long that takes depends on the temperature of your Outdooroven.

Step 4: Put the blueberries and water in a pan. Let the pan get hot in or on the Outdooroven. Heat and "crush" the blueberries until there is more of a syrup.
Step 5: When the blueberries have softened and the sauce is almost ready, add honey and a pinch of cinnamon. Stir well one more time and blend the sauce finely with a hand blender.
Step 6: Remove the French toast from the Outdooroven. Divide the French toast between plates. Drizzle the warm blueberry sauce on top and serve. A nice breakfast to start the day with ease.
