Outdooroven recipe: Christmas trees made of puff pastry
Celebrate Christmas with these puff pastry Christmas trees, made in the Outdooroven. Christmas is thé time for special and delicious food. That makes these puff pastry snacks in Christmas tree shape a festive addition. Discover these 5 variations, both sweet and savory and serve them to your guests.
Roll out 1 puff pastry roll and cut out a Christmas tree shape (triangle with trunk). Spread the shape with herb cream cheese, top it with salmon and sprinkle a tablespoon of honey over it.
Lay the other roll of puff pastry over it and cut out the same Christmas tree shape here.
Extra tip before you get started
Don't waste the leftover puff pastry! Turn them into fun star shapes and top them with the same ingredients as the puff pastry Christmas tree. Same idea with a different shape.
Puff pastry Christmas tree with salmon and cream cheese
Ingredients:
- 2 rolls of puff pastry of 270 gr
- 100 gr herb cream cheese
- 200 gr smoked salmon
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 egg
- 15 gr dill
Seal the edges and beat the egg. Brush the puff pastry with the beaten egg. Make cuts in the sides of 1 to 2 inches and twist the strips to form "branches.
Brush the twisted puff pastry branches with egg as well.
Remove the dill from the sprigs and chop finely. Sprinkle with dill and then place the puff pastry Christmas tree in the preheated Outdooroven.
Let it bake until the puff pastry is brown and crispy.
Christmas tree made of puff pastry and knack sausages
Ingredients:
- 2 rolls of 270 gr puff pastry
- 2 cans of knack sausages
- Curry
- Mustard
- 1 egg
Roll out 1 puff pastry roll and cut out a Christmas tree shape. Spread your homemade curry mustard sauce over the puff pastry. Cut the sausages in half lengthwise and cover the Christmas tree shape with the sausages. Be sure to leave a rim next to the knack sausage, so you can seal the "branches" later.
Cover the topped puff pastry Christmas tree with the second roll of puff pastry and cut the same Christmas tree shape from it. Seal the edges and cut strips to form branches.
Brush the tree with a beaten egg, so that the puff pastry will become nicely golden brown and crispy with baking in the Outdooroven.
Christmas tree of puff pastry with cranberry jam and white chocolate
Ingredients
- 2 rolls of puff pastry of 270 gr
- Dried cranberries or cranberry nut mix
- 1 egg Cranberry jam (other jam, such as blueberry is also very tasty)
- 100 gr white chocolate
Seal the edges, beat the egg and spread on the puff pastry. Make 1 to 2-inch indentations in the edges, forming strips. Gently twist these strips to create Christmas tree branches. Coat the branches additionally with beaten egg.
Bake the puff pastry Christmas tree in the Outdooroven while melting the white chocolate.
Remove the puff pastry Christmas tree from the oven when golden brown and allow to cool. Spread the white chocolate over it in stripes. Finally, add the dried cranberries and serve.
Puff pastry Christmas tree with kale pesto and cheese
Ingredients:
- 2 rolls of puff pastry of 270 gr
- 1 egg
- 100 gr kale
- 2 tbsp pine nuts
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 50 gr old grated cheese
- lemon juice
- Garlic clove
- Blender or hand blender
Cut a Christmas tree shape out of the first roll of puff pastry. Add your homemade kale pesto and spread it out. Cover the tree with the second roll of puff pastry and cut out the Christmas tree shape here too.
Beat the egg, seal the edges and spread the egg over the puff pastry. Make 1 to 2 centimeter indentations on the sides and carefully roll each branch over 1 to 2 times. Brush the branches further with the egg and then place the puff pastry Christmas tree in the Outdooroven. Bake until the puff pastry Christmas tree takes on a golden brown and crispy appearance.
Chocolate Christmas tree of puff pastry with hazelnuts
Ingredients:
- 2 rolls of puff pastry of 270 gr
- Nutella paste
- 1 egg
- Powdered sugar
- 30 grams of hazelnuts
- 100 grams of chocolate (of your choice)
- Powdered sugar
Seal the edges, make 1 to 2 centimeter notches and twist branches from the strips. Spread the puff pastry with the beaten egg. Bake the puff pastry Christmas tree golden brown in the Outdooroven. Meanwhile melt chocolate of your choice.
After baking, let the puff pastry Christmas tree cool for a moment. Then pour the melted chocolate over it in stripes. Top with powdered sugar and the final hazelnut pieces.
