The Frame House is designed by Floris Schoonderbeek. Floris initially designed the construction with the purpose of a hideaway at a busy exhibition. “The soft curves of the connections, the wooden material and the house-like shape are friendly and inviting. At the same time it makes the construction easy to assemble and adjust it to your needs.” According to the designer, that’s what the Frame House offers most of all: a feeling of flexibility. Floris: “It offers the possibility to create your own space at any location. It’s completely open to change. You can easily adjust its placement, furnishing and purpose.”

FAQ about the Framehouse

material

ROOF PANELS

The Frame House comes without a roof to keep all options open. You can choose to add the specially designed Weltevree roof panels: a polycarbonate option with connection pieces of anodized aluminum. Or create your own roof with fabric, plants or other materials.
 

DOUGLAS WOOD

The wooden beams are made of natural, untreated douglas fir wood. You can add color by painting and/or treating the wood yourself.

PLATFORM

The optional platform is made of the same wood as the Framehouse base: Dutch Douglas fir wood. It’s made up from smooth decking without grooves, since these grooves can hold water and trap dirt, presenting the risk of mould and demanding more maintenance. The smooth decking is easier to clean and therefore less likely to become slippery.
